Location: Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, HI

Clearance: Secret (No interim)

Skill Qualifications

  • DODM 8570-01M IAT Level II

  • Current Security+ certification

Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)

  • Required within 2 months of candidate start date.

  • Skillsoft Course Completion with Test Scores certification is accepted.

Position Description

  • Assist in the design and architecture as well as administration of the PHNSY Client Wireless/WIDS Deployment throughout the CIA.

  • Configuring the Cisco Switches in the Wireless Network to support an Aruba Controller, Airwave, Servers (SBR/NPS/DHCP).

  • Configuration of RADIUS in support of 802.1x and Network Management on the Wireless network devices on the Wireless Network.

  • Hardware platform supported Aruba 3600 Controllers, Aruba 6000 Chassis with M3 Controllers, Aruba AP 135’s, Aruba AP 175’s, and Aruba Airwave.

  • Made sure that the installation of the Wireless Network complied with the FIPS 140-2 encryption.

  • Ensure compliance with the DoD Wireless Policies and Network Policies.

  • Ensure STIG Checklist Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, wireless controllers, APs were completed and reviewed.

  • Creating/Submitting Firewall Rules request to get services in the Wireless network to work (AD Authentication, HBSS working with Tablets/servers, WSUS working with Servers, RDP for management of Servers, etc.)

  • Reviewing Logs and Airwave monitoring for Malicious threats, attacks, performance issues.

  • Address vulnerabilities that gets released by Aruba and Cisco

  • Upgrade Cisco IOS on Core and Edge Switches

  • Upgrade AOS code on the Aruba Controllers

  • Upgrade Airwave Software and CENT OS.

  • Testing the Video streaming capabilities on the Wireless network.DCS testing was with a Wireless Tablet to a Tablet docked on SYLAN.

  • Create firewall requests to open necessary ports needing to be open on the Wireless Firewall.Jabber testing was via a Tablet on SYLAN to a tablet on the wireless network.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:30AM – 3:00PM.
