Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center is a fully integrated nonprofit health care system with a 159-bed tertiary care hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai‘i. The Security team provides security, information, directions and escort service to patients and staff as needed, while adhering to policies and regulations regarding safety. As Security Officers patrol our facilities, they are often the first to meet and greet our clients, which positions the community’s experience at our facility in a positive way. The Security team plays a vital role in creating a sense of safety and security throughout our hospitals, which is important to our patients and their families.
If you would like to help create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, staff and guests at Straub, you could be the right person for this position. Responsibilities include providing protection and security for facility personnel, patients, visitors, and property through security and safety patrols, crisis intervention, investigation into minor crimes and accidents, and serving as a visual deterrent to potential problem situations. You will participate in safety programs and provides support to all departments. Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Health Care Security Officer Training Certificate to be obtained within one year of hire. Current American Heart Association Heart Saver – AED CPR card. Six (6) months security experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Hospital security experience.
