U.S. Bank is seeking an attorney to join its in-house legal team and support the Bank’s consumer bankruptcy division. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of in-house or law firm experience supporting consumer bankruptcy functions, including filings, motion practice, and adversary proceedings. Specific duties related to this position include the following: advising on regulatory matters; coordinating with outside vendors and legal counsel; reviewing, monitoring, and assisting with bankruptcy litigation and the bankruptcy-related customer complaints.

Basic Qualifications

  • Law degree

  • Licensed by and in good standing with the appropriate state bar association or other appropriate state attorney licensing authority

  • Two to seven years of experience as an attorney

Preferred Skills/Experience

-At least three years in-house or law firm experience supporting consumer bankruptcy functions, including filings, motion practice, and adversary proceedings.

-Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, and recent legal developments impacting consumer default management and collection

-Ability to analyze legal issues impacting business line clients and to provide effective advice to these clients on complex legal matters

-Ability to interact with business lines and other support groups in person and remotely

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Strong commitment to client service

-Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while balancing multiple priorities
