The Housekeeper will be responsible for the cleaning, sanitation and general upkeep of all interior and exterior buildings, surfaces, and furnishings. The position will also assist in the set-ups and take-downs of furniture and equipment staging needed for
the various programs and building uses.
The Housekeeper will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Requires at least 1 year of experience in current janitorial methods and procedures.
Must have thorough knowledge of health and sanitation requirements of a public facility, preferably utilizing “green/sustainable” cleaning products and methods.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.
Provide routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting of all interior and exterior building surfaces and furnishings.
Regular cleaning and sanitation of areas including restrooms, shower rooms, locker rooms, fitness areas and kitchen.
Provide furniture and equipment set-ups and take-downs in support of various programs and building uses.
Regular removal of trash, litter and recyclables.
Provide high level cleaning of public areas such as lobbies and entry areas.
Regular cleaning and sweeping of exterior areas including sidewalks, paved areas, and landscaping.
Maintain appropriate inventories of cleaning products, supplies and products such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps throughout the facility.
Maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities and grounds components including doors, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings and furnishings.
Maintain records of cleaning, service and repair of building systems.
Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.
Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.
Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
